It all started on a snowy mountaintop…

In January 2021, fate brought us together on a snowboarding trip in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We were both living as digital nomads at the time—Brenda starting from the West, and Nate making his way from the East Coast. We were each invited by a friend, and from the moment we met, we clicked.

We spent three days shredding the gnar, sharing laughs, and realizing how easy it was to be around each other. Then Nate continued his cross-country adventures westward, while Brenda headed East. We kept in touch throughout the year, trading stories, jokes, and the occasional travel tip.

In October 2021, we finally reunited—over coffee in Boston (though let’s be honest, Brenda was mostly there to meet Nate’s sister’s dog, Chloe). A few weeks later, Nate moved to Colorado, and on New Year’s Eve, Brenda found her way back, too.

Brenda invited Nate to go snowboarding again, under the guise of “rekindling the friendship.” But after a few mountain days, cozy dinners that felt suspiciously like dates, and a sweet birthday gift of coffee and chocolate (Brenda knows the way to Nate’s heart), we both realized there was something more.

Despite Nate never technically asking Brenda to be his girlfriend (we’re still waiting…), two years later he surprised her with a magical proposal at Retiro Park in Madrid, Spain. It was unexpected and thoughtful, equipped with the most beautiful backdrop, a hidden photographer, and a near-wardrobe malfunction.

Because travel has been such a big part of our love story, we knew we had to celebrate in a way that felt true to who we are—by inviting our closest family and friends on an unforgettable adventure abroad.
